Best Mediterranean food around, hands down best I've ever tried, big portions and good price
Food was delicious. We ordered lamb chops with rice salad and cucumber yogurt. All excellent. Chicken shaurma was ok. I gave them a 4 star because the tables were too close to each other.
Food was very good however the music was a bit loud so made conversation difficult. Service was excellent and other than the music it was very nice.
Verry good taste verry delicious and fresh food evrything is delicious speciality shawarma fatouch potato
Came here on a Friday evening about 1 hour before close, and it was totally delicious -- plus the customer service was amazing. The owner was very attentive towards us, checking on us just the right amount and making sure we were happy, answering questions and explaining a little about the food because it was our first time. It seemed like almost everyone who walked in knew the owners or employees, they'd come out to greet them and catch up, exchanging stories. You don't see that at a lot of establishments, so it made the atmosphere a happy one. The food was great. We ordered the combination kabob plate and the falafel plate, and added humus and baba ghanouj for a small extra charge. The baba ghanouj was divine, as was the chicken and lamb kabobs and the falafel was perfection. I loved the cabbage salad they give you in the beginning as well. We are huge cabbage fans, lol. Anyway, there's a location on York near us, so I'd like to give that Skaf's a try next! I'm so happy to have finally eaten here.
been over two years since my last Yelp review, but I had to return to review Skaf's because they were just that good! my friend recommended this place-- we came for weekday dinner and got seated immediately. clean and well-organized interior! we ordered Mixed Shawarma and Lamb Chops entrees, which each came with pita, cabbage salad, and rice. ordered hommus and grape leaves as well. food came quick and was delicious! everything was fresh and the meat was so tasty and tender. staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. A+ service!
I have been going to Skaf's for years now and I never get tired of their combo grill! The combination of fresh, citrusy cabbage salad with rice, grilled chicken, steak, and luleh is reliable and well-rounded. My favorite way to eat this dish is by ordering hummus and stuffing pita with the salad and meat. The garlic sauce is also irresistible!!!! My recommendation is to share the combo grill with two people, it is pretty big. The wraps here are also yummy. Thank you Skaf's for introducing me to the food of Lebanon!
Small parking lot at the back The restaurant but several tables inside. Service was extremely friendly. This restaurant had been on my list forever and I've never had the opportunity to try it out because it closes at 3.30 and also not open on weekends. So happy that I finally got to try it on a Friday afternoon. Now to the food! Everything was outstanding. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate and the shrimp and chicken kabob skewer. All the meat and shrimp was seasoned well and very tasty. We added on the baba ghanoush and hummus. The baba ghanoush had the perfect smoky level. That was a good size serving as well. The cabbage salad that comes with it was so delicious. It was huge. We liked the cheese roll. Like a spring roll. The portions are huge and probably good for 3 meals.
Since I was in Glendale at Mission Liquor anyway, I decided to pick up food from Skaf's, a place near my wife's old workplace. I remembered the food being pretty decent and there's no better place to find Middle Eastern food than Glendale. After perusing the menu, I decided to order the combo #9 with 3 skewers: shish kebab, tawook, and kafta. The steak was amazing. Super tender and juicy. The chicken was flavorful but very dry. The kafta was what you'd expect, nothing out of the ordinary but perfectly acceptable. The pickled vegetables were rather lacking in quantity and the cabbage salad was too oily for my taste so that was disappointing. They are very generous with the rice which wasn't extremely fluffy but adequate. At $29, it's not exactly a deal but with food prices being what they are, it's pretty much what I expected. The parking situation is atrocious in this tiny center. You can rarely find a spot and even if you do, the parking spaces are too narrow and you have to worry about getting dents on your doors unless you drive the smallest of subcompact cars. Glendale isn't known for its thoughtful drivers so many people parked next to you could care less about swinging their doors open forcefully. The best strategy is to bring someone with you who can pop in to pick up your takeout order while you find a safe place to wait for them. I don't think I'd make a solo trip to pick up a meal here.
I'm officially a big fan of Skaf's. The kabobs are amazing. So juicy and flavorful. And the spices give each skewer that comforting, zesty taste that has you deeply savoring each bite. If you've had excellent Lebanese food before, then you know what I'm talking about. I ordered for pickup so didn't eat in. However, I was very impressed with the setup. Very modern and clean, but still homey, intimate, and inviting. The service? Everyone there was incredibly friendly and hospitable. They're clearly people that aim to please! Love it. The only thing that didn't wow me was the rice. The rice was just average. But the fresh crunch of the cabbage salad more than made up for it. If you're near Glendale and craving Middle Eastern / Mediterranean, then this is the spot!
